Common Questions:

  1. Are the Cur-OST EQ I.S., EQ I.S.C.C or EQ I.S.C.W formulas research or clinically supported to benefit my horse?  Yes!  The EQ I.S. formula has been used clinically in a small group of studied horses and was found to help stabilize pre- and post-prandial blood sugar levels and raise ketones in the blood.  Additionally, the horses demonstrated an improved attitude and improved comfort in feet and lameness scores.  Many of these horses using the EQ I.S or EQ I.S.C.C formulas also showed improved heat tolerance in very hot and humid conditions.  The herbs found in the EQ I.S. formula are well researched in human studies and used traditionally for centuries in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
  2. Are there any known side effects?  In clinical usage at label doses, there were clinical side effects noted, however, when doses were increased some horses demonstrated loose stools.
  3. Can the EQ I.S. blend be used with other Cur-OST formulas or supplements? Yes, in most cases.  Keep in mind that when using multiple supplements, there can be cross over and synergism between blends, which can increase potency.  When combining any supplements, it is generally recommended to start with reduce doses and assess your horse.

Ordered this for my Insulin Resistant horse hoping that maybe I found something to help regulate his blood sugar. But, he hates it. Will not eat his feed as long as it is in it. I tried starting a very small amount and even mixed it with cinnamon, but he dumps his feed. So I guess if he doesn’t eat it it won;t help him. I tasted it myself and it is very strong and disgusting. I wish manufacturers would find a way to make supplements with a likable flavor. I wish I could return this to get my money back.

Hi Jill, this formula is a bitter blend meant to drain the body of toxins, fluids, and waste which is impacting metabolic function. This is the nature of the blend and can be masked with honey or other additives, but bitterness is what creates the effect.
